Arm3 is a robot arm based on the ABB 640 palletizing robot. It is strong enough to hold 125g with it's arm fully stretched out to 50cm. It uses stepper motors for highly repeatable movement.
Arm3 runs in an open loop - the arm has to touch some switches in the "home" position and then counts steps as it moves from there. Everything works as long as it never misses a step.
The picture here shows the arm with a pen holding device at the finger tip. Pen holder is not included in this kit, but may be in future.
